Carbon Dioxide Removal
Description
Large volumes of carbon dioxide will need to be removed from the atmosphere, in parallel to rapid and deep emissions reduction, to help prevent climate change. Processes to do this include growing trees and plants, increasing soil organic carbon stocks, weathering alkaline-rich rocks, increasing ocean alkalinity, and direct air capture. RCCS has developed research lines in geochemical-based carbon dioxide removal and direct air capture.
