RCCS presents at the International Conference on Negative CO₂ Emissions

Members of the RCCS team recently attended the The 3rd International Conference on Negative CO₂ Emissions in Oxford, UK. The team presented their state of the art research on carbon removal during presentations and a poster session in person at the Mathematical Institute, Oxford University, and online. The team also strengthened their connections with industry and other research institutions through cross-disciplinary networking opportunities.

At the start of the conference, Dr. Laura Bastianini presented her work on a novel method of ocean alkalinity enhancement using ikaite and other hydrated carbonates minerals.

Posters created by Dr Phil Renforth, Dr James Campbell, Dr. Mohammad Madankan, Callum Ward, Veronica Furey, Aimee Titche, Rachel Millar and Arezoo Azimi were then presented during a dynamic poster session.

On the final day, Dr. ir. Mijndert van der Spek presented his research on direct air CO2 capture and storage as a final impactful end to RCCS presentations at the conference.
