Dr Oluwafunmilola Ola and Elizabeth Bay attended the 13th International Conference on Carbon Dioxide Utilization (ICCDU) in Singapore from July 5th through the 9th, 2015. Dr Oluwafunmilola Ola attended as speaker to the conference to present her work “CO2 photoreduction via CeO2-TiO2 coated two dimensional PMMA plates” and a poster. Elizabeth Bay also spoke presenting her work on “Normalization of Product Results In Photocatalytic Reduction of CO2“.
The conference covered subjects from chemical conversion and capture technologies all the way to life cycle analysis and economic and policy aspects of carbon dioxide utilization. The diverse conference topics and various plenary speakers enabled communication between academia, government and industrial communities. (http://www.iccdu2015.sg/) The importance of refined high value chemicals to carbon dioxide utilization in the current economic climate was obvious from the majority of talks presented. Ola and Bay were also able to go on the Jurong Island visit and see the Institute of Chemical and Engineering Sciences facility. Both are grateful for the opportunity.
