We are pleased to announce that Jorge I. Apan Ortiz is visiting RCCS for six months under the supervision of Dr. Eva Sanchez Fernandez. Here is a short introduction to Jorge:
Jorge is an MSc Eng. student of the Centro de Ciencias Aplicadas y Desarrollo Tecnológico (CCADET) at UNAM Mexico. He studied mechanical engineering in the Engineering Faculty UNAM and Politecnico di Torino (IT) from 2011 to 2016.
He participated in the SENER-UNAM specialization program in CO2 capture and EOR since 2017.
His Research interests include process engineering for successful implementation of CO2 capture in power plants.
Specific fields cover:
- Natural gas combined cycle with post-combustion capture.
- Partial load operation and off-design.
He is currently researching under the direction of Dr. Gabriel Ascanio Gasca (CCADET MX) and Dr. Abigail González Díaz (INEEL MX).
Previously he performed research in the development of oceanographic instruments and machinery. He also has experience in the field of mechanical design and manufacture.
