Abdolali Mosallanezhad
PhD Student
School of Engineering & Physical Sciences, Institute of Mechanical, Process & Energy Engineering, Heriot-Watt University, Riccarton, UK
Biography
Abdolali Mosallanezhad is currently pursuing his PhD at Heriot-Watt University under the supervision of Professor Mercedes Maroto-Valer and Dr Amir Jahanbakhsh. His research aims to improve the efficiency and reliability of underground hydrogen storage (UHS) during hydrogen injection and production cycles. This work plays a critical role in advancing clean energy technologies, particularly hydrogen as a key energy carrier for a low-carbon future. Abdolali holds a BSc in Petroleum Engineering from Hakim Sabzevari University and an MSc in Petroleum Engineering (Reservoir Engineering) from Shiraz University, where he was ranked 1st among exceptional talents. He has conducted extensive research on fluid flow in porous media, rock/fluid interactions, and hydrodynamic parameters related to hydrogen trapping in UHS processes. Abdolali’s work encompasses experimental and simulation studies, and he has collaborated with renowned institutions such as the Research Institute of Petroleum Industry (RIPI) and South Zagros Oil and Gas Production Company. His research aims to develop and optimise sustainable energy solutions and technologies.
