Biography:

Jinyu has been working as a PhD researcher at the University of Edinburgh since 2017, where she acquired extensive experience in pure component adsorption equilibrium and kinetic measurements. Her PhD project was focused on the development of a volumetric technique for accurate adsorption kinetic measurements. The main outcome of the project was a novel differential volumetric apparatus, which was built and employed to study mass transfer mechanisms of gas molecules in commercial zeolite pellets. She also conducted studies on theoretical models for interpreting complex diffusion mechanisms as well as an extensive literature review on common practices of volumetric and gravimetric kinetic measurements.
Jinyu has a MSc in Advanced Chemical Engineering from the University of Edinburgh (awarded in 2017) and a BSc in Textile Chemistry, Dyeing and Finishing Engineering from Donghua University (awarded in 2015). She joined RCCS as a research associate in 2022, working on the PrISMa project. Her role is to conduct numerical modelling of sorbent-based capture plants and to integrate process models with materials science, techno-economic analysis, and life-cycle analysis.

Jinyu's main research areas are Adsorption kinetics, Mass transfer, Adsorption processes, CO2 capture and utilisation.
