Li Anne Cheah currently works at the Department of Chemical Engineering, Heriot-Watt University. Her research interests mainly focused on material development and characterisation, CO2 capture and utilisation, whole process integration and intensification. She is currently working on the project “Novel absorbent applied to integrated waste heat recovery in industrial processes“, in which she will be involved in synthesizing novel hydrotalcites-like layered double hydroxides for high-temperature CO2 capture and utilizing waste heat in the processes to reduce energy penalty.

Lianne obtained her BEng of Chemical Engineering degree from Heriot-Watt University in 2017 and was also the recipient of Heriot-Watt Departmental Prize of the year. Prior to the transfer to Edinburgh campus, she was the first batch Chemical Engineering student in Heriot-Watt Malaysia campus and was awarded the University Prize 2014/2015. Aside from her academic progress, she is also active in participating in different engineering challenges such as Malaysia National ChemE car competition 2014, Google XPrize Lunar 2016/17 and Converge challenge 2018. She also has extensive experience in working as a Marketing & Branding executive and Website development.
