Professor Mercedes Maroto-Valer Prof M. Mercedes Maroto-Valer is the first Robert Buchan Chair in Sustainable Energy Engineering at Heriot-Watt University. She leads a team of 40 researchers developing novel solutions to meet the worldwide strive for energy, with particular emphasis on clean technologies. She has over 410 publications, including editor of 4 books and 32% of her publications are in top 10% most cited worldwide.Her outstanding contributions, publication record and service to the chemical sciences and energy engineering have been recognised with numerous international prizes and awards. She is a member of the Directorate of the Scottish Carbon Capture and Storage.
