Gift Udoh Wins Hydrogen Scotland 2024 Poster Competition

We are delighted to celebrate Gift Udoh, a Post-graduate Research student under the supervision of Prof. John Andresen at Heriot-Watt University, who has been named winner of the Hydrogen Scotland 2024 Poster Competition awarded by Hydrogen Scotland (formerly SHFCA), which promotes and develops expertise in hydrogen technologies with energy companies, consultants along with academic institutions and city and local authorities. Gift’s research focuses on utilising Digital Twin Technology to decarbonise industries through hydrogen and low-carbon energy vectors. Her award-winning poster, “Digital Twin for Magnetic Induction Catalytic System (MagIC) for Clean Hydrogen,” showcased her innovative approach to optimising hydrogen production using sustainable energy sources like wind and nuclear power.

Gift’s project explored how integrating the MagIC system with wastewater treatment plants can reduce methane emissions and minimise CO2 output during syngas production, providing a scalable solution for decarbonisation. She credited Dr. Manuel Ojeda and Dr. Hailei Wang for their guidance, with special thanks to Dr. Ojeda for deep insights into the MagIC system.

Congratulations to Gift for this outstanding achievement!
